So blessed....

In The Waiting room....

Keegan Jay Watson was born on December 29, 2008. 9lbs 14oz. by emergency c-section at the Utah Valley Hopsital. Keegan had a big fan club full of family and friends very eager to welcome him into the world. Though none of his fans had yet seen Keegan, the love for Keegan that filled the waiting room could have cured world hunger. As everyone waited to give Keegan hugs and kisses the doctors news kept everyone on their toes.. Keegan was in critical condition. He wasn't breathing well, and his heart wasn't contracting strong enough. The culprit was likely a virus that Keegan was exposed to in the womb known as cytomegalovirus.

Living in a Techonologically advanced world...

Keegan was taken immediately from the womb and transferred to the NICU. He was put on a ventilator (breathing machine) and was being watched very closely. Keegan was very fortunate to receive a preisthood blessing of health from grandpa Ken. Many of the NICU staff hoovered around listening intently and performing very carefully the doctors orders. The doctors at Utah Valley felt they didn't have the technology they needed to take care of him. With in 20 min's a life flight team arrived to care for Keegan. The doctor from the life flight team was able to drain fluid off his belly and chest, once that happened Keegan's Oxygen levels increase-a very good sigh. After the team stabilized him, Keegan was life flighted to one of the worlds best children hospitals, right here in Salt Lake City...Primary Children's Medical Center (PCMS). Keegan is currently in PCMC in the NICU. Keegan is very loved by many people who are desperately waiting and yearning for a swift recovery.

A wake up call...

Many babies are born with no complications, and very few are born with great physical, even life threatning challenges. It's times like these that make many so greatful for the gospel! It's times like these that try the faith of many! The attonement is real, and it is times like these that we can use the atonement to change our worry into comfort, and our sorrow into joy. It's times like these when we can turn to the savior.

What's next...

Please keep baby Keegan in your prayers. Also keep Jason and Katy in your prayers that they may feel the power of the comforter everyday. We all love you, Jason, Katy and Keegan- I feel it safe to say that we all feel truly blessed to have all three of you in our lives!
