The love of two amazing parents

Katy and Jason are so strong! Keegan is so very lucky to have two parents who love him so much and who have such high hopes for him in times of challenge.

Last night Keegan's face was very swollen. He's not urinating enough. He needs to be urinating 2.5 mL every hour, he's only peeing 0.6 mL. If the fluid doesn't go out it stays in and ends up in feet, hands and in Keegan's case his face. Because of all the fluid that he is retaining, he was started on a lasix drip-lasix is a drug that helps the kidneys get rid of fluid. As grandpa Ken said last night, pray for pee! Keegan also under went surgery yesterday to have a picc line in place. This picc line will allow long term access (most likely months) to his veins for his IV medications. Do not under estimate the PICC line, this is how keegan gets his food- a solution known as TPN is made of everything Keegan needs to grow, this TPN goes through the PICC line and into the vein. The nurses are so tender with him, are so positive and are so patient with all of us as we ask a billion questions.
